This website is designed to offer Texas Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors (LCDCs) and other Substance Abuse Counselors expert continuing education at a very low price. The Texas Administrative Code RULE 140.416 requires all Texas LCDCs to complete at least 40 hours of continuing education every two years. An LCDC who holds a master's degree or more advanced degree must complete at least 24 hours of continuing education during each two-year licensure period. These hours must include three hours of ethics training and at least six hours of training (total) in HIV, Hepatitis C, and sexually transmitted diseases. If an individual's job duties include clinical supervision, required hours of continuing education must include three hours of clinical supervision training. Counselors in other states should also be able to receive credit for these courses. CEUsource.com is a NAADAC approved program and is accepted by many state boards.
